Stormclouds and Raindrops. Here’s my silver streak baby alpaca, 18wpi, spun with Japanese silver glass beads strung on silver thread, 40 yds. and alone in a 2 ply, 200 yds.
I will not tell you how long I spent on those silly 40 yds. ; suffice it to say that I learned a lot about children and what not to do when making a beaded yarn. And I have a very pretty tangled ball of beaded silver thread that should convert easily to a lovely Christmas tree ornament.
This is one of my favorite yarns that I have spun so far. I put far more plying twist in than usual.....The yarn is still soft, and it looks so much more like I think yarn should look. Plus, there is that durability factor.

Beads! And such lovely yarn.
I can not imagine trying to spin beaded yarn with young kids around. Mostly because beads want to spill all over the floor. I'm still finding tiny beads from my last venture even with crawling, vacuum hose in hand, all around my craft chair.
So pretty! I like my yarns with a bit more twist, both single and plying, and I've yet to get a wiry skein. The beaded yarn looks great too. I spent a lot of time on a boucle once, I won't be doing that often either!

It may have taken a while, but it looks like it was worth every minute. It's just beautiful.
Wooooot! You finished it! And we are sooooo going to get you a better camera because I KNOW those photos don't do that yarn a fraction of the justice it deserves.
And of course I wanna see a photo of what it ultimately becomes, because pretty and lacy sounds just about right. :-)
