Skeleton Leaf Bookmark Pattern

SECOND NOTE****** Despite my attempts, the revised pattern is not ready yet. I am plugging away at it, and am still hopeful that I will stumble upon that magic stitch combo. In the meantime, the present pattern will give you a leaf, if not the precise one pictured.

PLEASE NOTE*******

As of Feb. 4th, I am in the process of revising this pattern to make it more accurate to the leaf pictured. I plan to have the revision posted by February 7th.

Remember this?

I have had several requests for the pattern here and on Ravelry, so here goes. I don't have the capacity to do a graphed pattern on my computer, so I have opted to use a sort of knitting shorthand instead of using words. Hopefully it will have a visual quality to it that will help you grasp the pattern of the pattern.

I used laceweight and size 3 needles. Your gauge may vary.

K= knit
O=yarn over
V= knit two together

Starting at the base of the leaf, cast on 5.

Row 1 KKOKOKK

All even numbered rows until row 10, purl across

Row3 KOVOKOVOK

Row 5 KOVKOKOVKOK

Row 7 KOVKOKOKOKOVKOK

Row 9 Bind off 3 OVKOKOVKOVKOK

Row 10 Bind off 3, purl remaining stitches.

Rows 11-16 Repeat rows 5-10 twice more.

Row 17 VVOKOVV

Row 18 Purl across

Row 19 Bind off 3, OKOVV

Row 20 Bind off 2, purl across

Row 21 Bind off 1, OV

Row 22 Knit 3 together

Break off, weave in ends. Block. Finish with cord and tassel or as desired.

Let me know if you have any problems with the pattern! I am kinda new at this.

Lots of snow here....

ending with some pictures for you!

Those snow pictures are something else. I can't remember the last time I saw snow. Pretty pictures.

The leaf bookmark looks so beautiful! I'm putting this pattern in my queue. It looks like a great way to use up little odds of lace weight yarn. Thanks so much for it!

Wooot! Congratulations on getting that pattern written up! You've been wanting to do it for a while, and of course now that means I have to try it . . . ;-)

Thanks for the pattern. I'll have to try it. I have been thinking of you and I appreciate your email to me. I'm really behind and I just wanted to let you know I hadn't forgotten you!
